The City requires all new subdivisions to be tied into the city's survey control system. Those requirements are listed in Section 70-82 of the city code. The city has established a series of control points throughout the city. These monuments are 3 1/2" brass caps stamped with the words "City of Muskogee - Survey Mark". Each monument is identified with an "H" and an I.D. number for horizontal control or a "V" and I.D. number for vertical control. For a spreadsheet listing of all control monuments click here. The horizontal control was establish by using GPS. The vertical control was establish by using differential levels. All survey control is based on the 1983 HARN. The coordinate system is the Oklahoma North State Plane System. Information concerning the control system is available through the downloads. Monuments that had been destroyed were replaced in 2002. Information concerning the new monuments is available in the download.
