The Finance Department has the fiduciary responsibility to safeguard the City's financial assets and manage its financial resources in accordance with the goals of the City Council, City Manager and in compliance with applicable laws and generally accepted accounting and financial management principles.
The Finance Department is the central manager of the City's assets and is responsible for controlling and recording the organization's financial activity. The Finance Department reviews and monitors financial activity against the City's budget; initiates and records all investment activity; prepares financial statements and schedules for audit and public information.
